Cali Poetik, dba Jeanay Johnson, provides non-medical death doula support for individuals and families navigating end-of-life, dying, and transition. This work centers presence, dignity, and compassionate accompaniment, honoring each person’s values, culture, and spiritual or secular orientation.

Death doula services may include emotional and spiritual support, companionship, bedside presence, vigil and advance planning, legacy and life-reflection work, ritual creation, grief companioning, and support for loved ones before and after death. Support may be offered in person or virtually and is shaped collaboratively to meet the needs of each individual and family.

All services are relational and supportive in nature. They do not include medical care, clinical assessment, mental health treatment, legal advice, or decision-making on behalf of the client. This work is intended to complement, not replace, hospice, palliative care, medical providers, mental health professionals, or legal services. Clients are encouraged to maintain relationships with appropriate healthcare and support professionals.

Rituals and ceremonies may be spiritual, interfaith, cultural, or secular, and are designed with care and respect for personal and ancestral traditions. When appropriate, collaboration with clergy, cultural elders, or family representatives is welcomed.

Confidentiality is honored with intention and care, except where disclosure is required by law or necessary to prevent harm. Services are entered into voluntarily and guided by mutual agreement, clear communication, and ongoing consent.
